I love making pasta dishes, because they typically don’t take a lot of time to create. Whenever I find my favorite pasta (www.barilla.com) on sale at one of my favorite grocery stores, I tend to stock up. I had quite a bit of bowtie pasta on hand, so I decided to make a dish using this type of pasta, with cheese, turkey, and ham. What I create was a simple, yet very tasty dish. I hope you enjoy it!!
In a saute pan, add 1 tablespoon butter and place on medium heat. Once butter is melted add 1 1/2 cups diced ham, 1 cup diced turkey, 1 cup frozen sweet peas, 1 tablespoon chopped onions, and 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic.
Saute under onions are tender
In a bowl add 1 cup of milk, 3/4 cups chicken broth, and 3 tablespoon flour. Whisk well until flour is blended. Next add liquid to saute pan. Season with 1 teaspoon granulated chicken bouillon, salt/pepper to taste.
Add 2 cups cooked bowtie pasta to mix. Mix well.
Next add 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese and lightly stir.
Add mix to a buttered casserole dish, and top with 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (I diced up slices of bread, and toasted in oven until hard. Allowed bread to cool, then I crumbled it up).
Place in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes
Perfect for dinner
