Most school days, I love to pack my kids some type of fruit snack for lunch. Typically it’s fresh organic fruit (strawberries, bananas, grapes, apples), purchased that week in the grocery store. I also like to pack them disposable fruit/veggie pouches to eat as a snack. When purchasing disposable fruit/vegetable pouches, I choose blends made from organic fruits/vegetables, with no added sugars or artificial ingredients.
One brand I really like is Peter Rabbit Organics. Their products are made from 100% organic fruits and vegetables, and contain no added salt, sugar or artificial ingredients. They come in various combinations of blended fruit snacks, as well as veggie blends. Peter Rabbit Organics pureed fruits/veggies are smooth, and easy for anyone to consume. My kids love them partially frozen, and eat the fruit blend as a slushy.
Peter Rabbit Organics were kind enough to send me 3 of their products to sample and review.
Peter Rabbit Organics fruit and veggie puree pouches are high in vitamin C, and range between 70-85 calories. They also require no refrigeration before eating, and come in a BPA-free resealable pouches for easy packing. Overall my kids (ages 8 & 10) loved the 2 fruit snack pouches. They loved the smooth texture of the puree, and the fact that it did not have a funny after taste. They requested for me to purchase more of the fruit snack pouches. Regarding the veg and fruit puree, they felt as though the peas were a bit too overpowering, and did not want to finish the pouch. I was able to incorporate it into a strawberry and banana smoothie, and they drank it without compliant. As stated on the company’s website, I do agree that the fruit pouches are loved by all ages, and the veggie pouches are more suitable for babies and toddlers.
Here is a typical lunch I pack for my kids. Peter Rabbit Organics fit perfectly inside their Laptop Lunches lunch box.
This lunch includes:
Mini wheel pasta with sauteed organic kale and italian chicken sausage in a fire roasted tomato sauce
Butterfly pretzel chips with nutella
Organic carrots with ranch dipping sauce
Peter Rabbit Organics strawberry and banana fruit snack
